Set along Namibia's spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide-open avenues, colonial architecture, and its surrounding otherworldly desert terrain. Founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South-West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort town, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, adventure options, laidback atmosphere and cool sea breeze make it a very popular Namibian destination. Visitors can look forward to a number of exciting activities including: quad biking, horse riding, paragliding, fishing, sightseeing and fascinating desert tours.

Day Itinerary
Upon arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will meet one of our representative and you will travel straight to Swakopmund. Your flight will need to arrive latest 15h00. Upon arrival, you will enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Today your activity is Marine Dune Day.
The Marine dune day is the ultimate combination of a leisure cruise on the Atlantic Ocean and a Dune Drive in the afternoon.
The day starts at 08:30 am, where you start with the Catamaran Cruise at 9h00. On the cruise, you will get the chance to see flying pelicans, seals, old wrecks and new ships, and if you are lucky we may see the endemic Benguela dolphins and many other sea wildlife!
The Dune Drive/Sandwich Harbour tour starts at 12:30. Here you will meet your guide and get all set and ready. Your first stop will be at the Walvis Bay Lagoon. We then continue to the large salt evaporation ponds. Finally, we drive through the river bed into the Kuiseb Delta, a dry riverbed full of history of the Topnaar people, whose ancestors have been living in the delta for centuries. Animals such as springbok come to seek for food and water in the Kuiseb Delta.
Our access to Sandwich Habour will depend on the weather and the tides. The best way of experiencing these rich and unique wetlands is by foot or by car. If the weather or tides do not allow us to access the harbour directly, we will view it from a viewing point on top of the dune where one can easily make out the harbour and the wildlife. Your guide will find a suitable place depending on the weather to serve a light lunch with Walvis Bay oysters, soft drinks and champagne. So, enjoy the view and voila lunch is served!
On our way back, your guide will keep sharing his/her knowledge of the local flora and fauna of the area. The highlight of the return trip is the visit to the Roaring Dune and Sand board.
Our return to Walvis Bay should be around 17h30 and you will then be driving back to Swakopmund with your team leader and driver.

Day Itinerary
On this day, you will wake up not too early, as you will go for your Camel ride and Quad biking.
Camel riding is such a fun experience and a must-try by every visitor in Swakopmund. A great idea for photoshoots too. Our guide will take you through the Swakopmund river, to the start of the Namib Desert, where you can take plenty of pictures, before heading back to our Adventure Centre.
After the camel riding, you will then go for the quad biking. It’s an adventure the whole team and everyone will enjoy. Speed along huge sand dunes on your quad bike. Experience the immensity of the desert and appreciate the breath-taking views. Beginners welcome. No license needed.
After the activities, your team leader will suggest one of the restaurants where you will go and dine for lunch, same as for dinner. Please note that Swakopmund is a city with a lot of options when it comes to dining out, hence the dinner and lunches and beverages are excluded.

Today, after breakfast, you will travel back to Windhoek and will be transferred to the Hosea Kutako International Airport for your outgoing flight.
