Uganda Experiences Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Lake Mburo

  • Arrival: Entebbe International Airport.
  • Pickup & Transfer: Meet your driver/guide and begin the drive to Lake Mburo National Park, ~4–5 hours away.
  • Stopover at the Equator line in Kayabwe for photos.
  • After arriving in Mburo National Park, we will have a sunset game drive.
  • Overnight: Mihingo Lodge / Rwakobo Rock / Eagle’s Nest.

Day 2: Lake Mburo – Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi

  • We embark on a morning game drive or walk looking for zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and leopards.
  • Breakfast and check-out: Begin the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (~6–7 hours’ drive). Route through Kabale or Mbarara with lunch en route, featuring a scenic drive through the Kigezi Highlands (“Switzerland of Africa”), arriving in the evening and checking in.
  • Overnight: Buhoma Lodge / Mahogany Springs / Gorilla Safari Lodge (depending on sector permit).

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

  • Early morning breakfast.
  • Transfer to the park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing
  • Gorilla Trekking: 2–8 hours, depending on gorilla movement.
  • Spend one magical hour with the mountain gorillas once located.
  • Afternoon: Relax at the lodge or go for a community walk / Batwa cultural experience.
  • Overnight: Buhoma Lodge / Mahogany Springs / Gorilla Safari Lodge (depending on sector permit)

Day 4: Optional Second Trek or Nature Walk / Relaxation

  • Options:
    • 2nd gorilla trek (if pre-booked and permitted).
    • Or an optional Nature walk in Bwindi.
    • Or drive to Lake Bunyonyi and have an optional boat cruise and explore the Islands.
    • Or Visit Lake Mutanda (if staying in the Rushaga sector).
    • Cultural experiences with local communities.
  • Overnight: Same lodge in Bwindi/ Bird Nest

Day 5: Transfer from Bwindi to Entebbe

  • After breakfast, drive back toward Lake Mburo or stop midway for a shorter final day.
    • Alternatively: drive straight to Entebbe (takes ~9 hours total), with stopovers.
  • Overnight: The Boma lodge.

Day 6: Departure

  • If overnighted in Entebbe:
    • Visit local craft markets or Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (if time allows).
    • Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
